Heading to Vegas Monday and I’ve been there a bunch of times and have done a bunch of the strip dining. Wondering about those local gems that the locals go to when they want a great meal.
Any type of food.
China Garden on Spring Mountain Road (Chinatown) for dim sum. Technically, you’ll find a lot of tourists there, the asians from LA who want to get good dim sum as close as possible to the Strip that isn’t outrageously priced. It’s a solid joint, just be sure to go before 11:30 on weekends because it can get busy.
However, for dinner, I ALWAYS take out of town guests to Lotus of Siam (about a mile East of the Strip on Sahara). It’s in a totally humble strip mall, and the space itself has at best an uninspiring decor. But if you look on the walls, there’s been a lot of celebs there – the food is great and the prices reasonable because it’s not on the strip. I took a friend whose mom is thai and he said it was the most accurate thai he’s had outside of his home. Reservations strongly recommended. www.saipinchutima.com
does anyone know a good place to gamble in las vegas that has cheap stakes? like dollar black jack or craps please let me know thanks
Just look for smaller casinos off strip. The big flashy ones are not going to offer dollar blackjack or anything like that.
But even the small casinos are not going to offer such low stakes during peak times. Such as most evenings, weekends and so on.
In all honesty I have to question the point of playing dollar blackjack. If you can’t afford to play at normal stakes, I wonder if Vegas is the sensible vacation choice for you.
