Amongst the soldiers accompanying a wagon in which Indian chiefs and leaders are transported there are two men, one who continuously rejects them and talks bad about Indian people in general and the other, who treats them with respect. He’s aware that these men are forced to leave their countries in order to be settled somewhere else because the area is taken by white people. They have not been consulted about where to go and when. Some of the Indian leaders go along because they know that there are hardly any chances to change the government’s plans. One of the chiefs, Yellow Bear, does not agree, neither with their treatment which leaves little room for personal pride nor with the facts which do not ask for any of their personal needs. He opposes Wolf who tries to calm him down, but Yellow Bear takes a chance to escape together with some other braves. They take along riffles. When Wolf tries to convince him to give up, Wolf is shot. The soldier who’s trying to build a relationship with the Indians and trying to arrange that the promises given to them are really kept, tries too to convince Yellow Bear.
