I need help planning a side-trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.?
My friends and are traveling to Las Vegas next week for 4 days. We would like to take a day trip to the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam. What is the best and economical way of planning this? Will it be cheaper to rent a car? Should we stick to a tour (tour bus)? Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated ![]()
rent a car for hoover dam its only about an hour out and there are some neat things to see along the way one that i remember is an old western town were they stage gun fights and things
as far as the grand canyon you can fly out on a smaller planes they fly out to the canyon and over it then they land put you in a bus that takes you to the canyon edge and you get to walk around take pictures and things
i do not remember exactly how long you have at the canyon but i believe it was about 2-3 hours there are restaurants and gift shops i do not remember who we flue with but i believe we found the add in the local phone book

It is by far cheaper to rent a car. Beside you can see much more.
If you want to see the real Grand Canyon go to the South Rim. There are really lots of places that you can see easily on way to the South Rim. Lake Mead http://vegasnature.com/LakeMead.htm Hoover Dam http://vegasnature.com/HooverDam.htm Colorado River http://vegasnature.com/ColoradoRiver.htm Oatman http://vegasnature.com/Oatman.htm Grand Canyon http://vegasnature.com/GrandCanyon.htm on the way back stop in Laughlin http://vegasnature.com/Laughlin.htm http://www.vegasnature.com/ has videos of each area followed by maps showing how to get there

You can check out VegasOndemnd.com and see which Grand Canyon tour you’d like to take. They have airplane tours, helicopter tours, and suv tours to the Grand Canyon to choose from.

Taking the bus means you can relax to and from. But you take a tour to the Dam OR you take a very long day trip to Grand Canyon in Arizona. Renting a car works but not as relaxing
