Things change in LV I can’t guarantee this company is still around or owned by the same people we took one of their tours June of 2005 –
There is no need to book a GC tour before you get to LV. Check the local and in-room magazines for bargains("What’s On" – "Today in Las Vegas" – "LV 24/7" – "Showbiz Weekly" – Etc)
Good luck and take a camera the GC is an awesome sight. Even more so on clear days and when the sun is at an angle to the GC(sunrise/sunset)

My main concern is to save money by staying within the 100 to 150 range and prevent myself from driving fatigue. However I would like to learn from your experiences and suggestions
Our main concern is to save money by staying within $100 – $150 range & prevent ourselvs the driving fatigue. However I would like to learn from your experiences and suggestions. We are staying at Tropicana. How much is the drive distance?
I live in Vegas so I can certainly help out. As far as what you should take to get to the Grand Canyon I guess it would depend on where you were staying and *as you already mentioned* how much you want to spend. Depending on what hotel/casino you stay at they provide a very inexpensive bus/van to the site.

I am reading in travel guides I should take a bus or train to south rim of the Grand Canyon because there is limited parking in summer. We are going the 1st week in August. Can we drive and if so, what time do we need to arrive to get a parking space?
Definitely drive it and use Desert View as your primary entrance to GCNP not the Tusayan Entrance.
Desert View is better for a couple reasons the first being the obvious; the view of Canyon is much better. Unlike the view from the area by the hotels , from Desert View/ Navajo Pt /Lipan PT[my favorite view } the river is not only clearly visible but it's a dominant feature in the landscape,.
Also all the GCN geology is present .
Another thing that makes Desert View so much better is the ride needed to get there . Either traveling North or South on US 89- which is incredibly beautiful onto itself and then that spectacular uphill run to GCNP. The trip up SR 64 from Williams to Tuysayan/ GCNP is boring.
If use US 89 [and you should]get gas in Gray Mountain or Cameron before using SR 64 to the Park.
Cameron Trading Post is definitely worth a visit and is fairly decent place to stay & also get a meal – and their stock of Pendelton blankets is amazing.
The Trading post is just north of the US 89/sr 64 jct.
Btw What’s your starting point ?

Call the Grand Canyon park office – it’s at least 2.5 hours from Phoenix to Flagstaff (unless your foot is leaden) and then probably another hour or so to get to the canyon. I imagine there may be tour group trips, but I’ll bet they cost a pretty penny.

I’ve heard of buses called Turnaround Buses where you get picked up at 6 am, drive to Vegas, gamble all day and party all evening, and then they drive you home and you’re back by 3am or so. I live in Orange County, CA… does anyone know of any services? I can’t find any online.
Try megabus.com
The problem, however, is that it’s 4 hours (with zero traffic or problems) to Vegas, and 4 hours back. So that’s 8 hours of traveling.
The earliest they leave is 7:15am, and the last bus from Vegas to LA leaves Vegas at 5:15pm.
Not only that, but they drop you off by UNLV – not even on the strip!

Sure. There are plenty of tours to the Grand Canyon. Be advised, this tour is to the South rim of the Canyon. While there are no bad views this is not the most picturesque. It is owned by local Indian tribes. The tours are fine but do not include the fee charged to go out on the glass Skywalk. That costs an additional $30 per person or so.
The drive out and back is very long. Figure on 5 hours each way. You pass over Hoover Dam and drive past Lake Mead. All and all, many people find these tours fun and informative.
I would recommend the West Rim tour. That is the most beautiful and spectacular. The ride is probably about a half hour longer each way but that is the most breathtaking view. As you approach the Canyon, you just see what looks like a metal railing along the side of the road. As you walk up to the railing and look over the edge….WOW! Now that is the Grand Canyon!

I’m planning a wedding in Summerlin but most guests are staying on the strip. A cab ride is over $40. I’m thinking of a limo bus or party bus or some vehicle that I could rent that would accomodate 16 people. I’d only want it to pick up guests on the strip and then come back to Summerlin a few hours later to take guests back to the strip. Any suggestions for the most affordable company providing party bus type of transportation? The bus does not need to be all decked out but I guess its nice if its not too expensive. I’m asking someone who may have had experience with this – otherwise I know I could call around to about 30 different places.
My suggestion would be Las Vegas Limo, they have a 20 person party bus available for $70 per hour.

Las Vegas Limo along with Presidential limo have long been the best in Las Vegas..
An alternative would be the "Big Blue Limo"

I can’t decide whether to visit the South Rim from Las Vegas for the day via a tour (bus) company or rental car. I’ve priced the bus trip at about $180 for two people. Car rental is about $30, excluding gas.
My key criteria for selection is time at the Grand Canyon. I have no problem being picked up from my hotel at 8 a.m. and returning to it (in Las Vegas) at 9 p.m. But I’ve heard you can get to the South Rim faster via car, and spend more time there, as opposed to frequent stops by the bus. The only thing that concerns me about rental car is entrance into the Grand Canyon – I’m assuming it’s not expensive to get into the park.
Any suggestions? Any route maps to the Grand Canyon via car.
Grand Canyon South Rim is a beautiful trip.
Pro’s and cons:
In the bus, you will have limited time. Usually stopping for around 2 hours.
In a car, you will be able to stay as long or as little as you want.
In the bus, you have a bathroom for the long trip, but you are stuck with what comes aboard.
In a car, you can stop along the many other great locations.
In the bus, gas and entrance fees are included.
In a car, gas is over $3.00 a gallon and entrance to the park is $25.00.
I could go on and on.. but best if you just check out there site:

Ok so we’ve got rooms booked at the Venetian and the plan is to do bottle service both nights (fri and sat) At Tryst one night and Pure the second, but we are also looking for good deals, I’ve heard of buy 2 bottles get 1 free deal, and other such deals would be cool, VIP Passes are unnecessary because we are getting table service,
Id prefer not to use a VIP host and do it on my own
Also, I’m trying to get a party bus for 1 hour strip tour on saturday night after the club anybody know any good deals from legitimate companies?? thanks
of course best answer will be given
Sorry to rain on your parade, but a bunch of guys are not going to get a bottle deal on your own, especially at Tryst on a Friday night. I doubt even a VIP Host will be able to get you a bottle deal anywhere on the Wynn properties over a weekend.
Fact is the clubs don’t like bachelor parties, they want girls and a lot of them!
Send me an email with more details and I can guide you in a better direction.

How can I get a cheap 1 way ticket (by bus) to the Grand Canyon? I noticed greyhound doesn’t offer it… any suggestions?
Take a Greyhound bus to Williams AZ and then find another way to GCanyon like the tran. I bet you check for tours to GC rather than a one-way ride, which is very unusual
